The little cottage by the edge of the forest. Ink and watercolor, 2014.
Life through David's glass negatives
In 2014, I presented my art thesis in illustration. I had examined my grandmother's grandfather David's nearly 100-year-old glass negatives. David Lundgren photographed his family life in Hässelby gård around the early 20th century. He left a vast collection of glass negatives, a fantastic insight into their lives that I wanted to explore with my watercolors.
David and the boys are playing. Ink and watercolor, 2014.
The wildlings and the snail. Ink and watercolor, 2014.
Early sketch of the Wildlings and the snail.
One of the many cartons containing the glass negatives. With a little bird sketch by David.
Some of the things I learned about David. He worked as a head waiter. He was married to Hedvig. He had nine brothers.
